Choreographer I artistic Stage Director I Movement Coach

based in berlin

That is me.

With a background shaped by over two decades of experience, my work flows between choreography, artistic stage direction and movement coaching.

In my choreographic work, I explore the balance between shared unity in big choreographic pictures and the suptle spark of individual presence — At the core of my work lies a simple question: How can a message be translated into movement in a way that is both clear and visually unforgettable?

I create movement-driven experiences for fashion, film and live performance trough cinematic storytelling and contemporary choreography.

Developing visually striking and emotionally engaging productions is my passion. Years of experience have taught me how to navigate ambitious creative processes, collaborate with diverse teams, and transform bold ideas into compelling realities. I believe that no vision is too big and no dream too ambitious. The challenge is not whether it can be done, but how to make it happen.

From large-scale commercial productions to artistic collaborations, my work bridges the worlds of performance, fashion and film.

Based in Berlin. Working internationally.

About Brigitte Breternitz

Choreographer, Dancer, Movement Coach, and Creator of BUDY Flow

Brigitte Breternitz is a choreographer, stage director, dancer, and movement coach with over 25 years of experience in the performing arts. Her work bridges the worlds of contemporary dance, stage performance, and movement training, with a focus on artistic collaboration and physical awareness.

As the founder of MADCITY Cologne, a well-known dance studio for urban and contemporary styles, and CEO & choreographer for the agency PAKAMELE, Brigitte led numerous national and international projects—working across theater, television, fashion, and film. Her choreographic style is defined by clarity, strong visual language, and an intuitive approach to movement.

In 2015, she stepped away from studio ownership to dedicate time to studying movement practices in India. Since then, she has regularly returned to collaborate with artists and deepen her understanding of body-based training methods.

In 2021, Brigitte relocated to Berlin to build new creative networks. Together with artist and singer Alice Francis, she co-founded the artist agency TÄEM TÄEM TALENTS. With her performance collective The NOWbodies, she develops immersive and site-specific performance works in collaboration with other creatives.

Brigitte’s experience in both performance and education led her to develop BUDY Flow—a movement method that combines elements of dance, yoga and guided movement research to support a more precise and authentic and expressive dance. It is designed to improve body awareness and enhance physical presence for dancers and non-dancers alike.

She regularly teaches workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings across Europe, working with performers, creatives, and movement professionals who seek to develop their skills, deepen their understanding of movement, and unlock new artistic perspectives.
